Similar great sound system, similar incredibly sharp and bright screen, and larger, so probably the better screen out of the two Odeons here. Odeon West EndA pretty close second to the Luxe Leicester Square, in my books, #1 in my partner's books. Didn't bother me too much but my partner found it very annoying. The auditorium is quite light in colour and the seats are tan leather (which puts them out of spec for Dolby!), which causes some reflections in the 3D glasses. For me that was a plus, it's fun to have some audience reaction to big moments in tentpole comic book films like that, but if that sounds horrid to you then considering going to a smaller screen for those films! For films that were less of an "event" I've not experienced this, and the audience is as well behaved as any, otherwise. Note that the audience this draws can be a little rowdy, but I've only had that in films where it was somewhat appropriate (End Game, No Way Home). Not the best position, but perhaps the most fun (and the most expensive) - good for a special occasion. The "box" seats in the balcony are a little further from the screen than ideal, but have even more room around them and a completely uninterrupted view to the screen which makes them feel quite special. The seats themselves are the best seats out of all the cinemas, hands-down – separately controllable recline and footrest, and organised in twos so they don't wobble if someone else in your row gets overexcited.

There isn't a steep rake downstairs, but the screen is above you and the seats recline really far, so you get a good view from a good range of locations. The picture is incredibly sharp with really high contrast and a great range of colours, with the only downside being the smaller size of the screen.įor seats, row D on the ground floor is a good distance. Has the best sound system by far (slightly better than the West End Odeon, too, imo – louder, and with more spatial precision).

Odeon Luxe Leicester SquareMy personal favourite. Avoid for anything else, but worth going to for 70mm 1.4:1 films if you can get a good seat. I found this thread when I was searching for information on them, so I thought I would report here on my subjective assessment of them all:īFI IMAX70mm only, of course. I have been trying to go to all of the top-end central London screens to compare them all, and after my visit to the Cineworld Leicester Square "SuperScreen" yesterday, I believe I now have (Edit: not quite, there's a few more to go!).
